WHAT IS THIS OBJECT OF CURIOSITY?

Okay so, my lecturers left the whole class with this...THING. I honestly, sincerely do not know what it is. It looked weird to me :/ Some of my friends said that it's a contact lens holder but I kinda doubt it. While one of my lecturer said that, "It's a MAN'S PLAY TOY" and I was like .______. "lol wut??" -,- I'll try to figure this out... better go get some rest. My neck's killing me :(
